A Studio Designed to Help You Grow

Located in the historic Robinson Montgomery building at 1812 Canal Street, suite 114, in Merced CA. My beautiful studio space is open, welcoming, and designed to provide you with the best experience possible while advancing your musical education. I have a huge array of equipment for students to explore, with amplifiers, instruments, effect pedals, recording equipment and more. You’ll not only learn how to play your instrument, but how to take that knowledge into the real world and utilize your abilities. This space allows us to learn about important aspects of being a musician, such as setting up a stage for a gig, working within a band, song writing, recording and distribution, promotion and more.

About Me

A Merced native with decades of experience, I look to enrich my community by helping our musicians grow and reach their potential.

What People Are Saying

“My son has been doing lessons with Shaun for about 8 months now. He is so patient and kind with my son and he looks forward to every lesson. He figures out what drives these kids and uses that to make them excited about music. He has helped my son come out of his shell and as a parent seeing your kid happy and excited, it means the world. I would recommend anyone to do lessons with Shaun. They will not regret it.” – Stefani Wisener

I had always been interested in learning guitar and as a child would frequently pick up my dad’s guitar to figure out songs on one string.  Unfortunately I never did more than that as a kid.  It wasn’t until I was an adult that I finally bought a guitar and decided I was going to learn how to play it.  I was hesitant to take lessons at first as I was worried about being a beginner as an adult.  In addition I was worried that a teacher would have the expectation that I would devote an hour or so each day for practice (my job and family sometimes leaves me only with 10 minute a day to practice!).  Anyway, my wife bought me some lessons with Shaun and am so grateful to her and to Shaun.  Shaun will help you with whatever goals you have with guitar (and other instruments!).  If you want to make a band and start playing gigs – Shaun will help with that.  If you just want to be able to play some songs while sitting around a campfire with your family – Shaun will help with that too.  I enjoy listening to music more now and am glad Shaun has been able to help me on my journey learning how to play the guitar!” – Keith Tetangco

Our son has been attending guitar lessons with Shaun for the past 5 years. He is kind, patient, and passionate about guitar and music in general. He is dedicated to his students and my son is looking forward to many more lessons with Shaun.” – Pike Verceles

My two kids have taken lessons with Shaun for almost 10 years, including acoustic guitar, ukulele, and electric (bass) guitar. Shaun has always been excellent – attentive to detailed, custom, specialized instruction. He has been willing to adjust schedules as needed, and has an excellent rapport with his students. The new studio space offers exciting additional opportunities for collaboration and even recording. Shaun’s insight into music makes the lessons something the kids look forward to every week!” – Jon D. Carlson, PhD
