Music Lessons

Lessons are 30 minute, weekly 1 on 1 sessions. My aim as a teacher is to foster a passion for music and a love for expression through an instrument. I offer lessons for the Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, and Ukulele, and have been teaching in Merced since 1999. Tuition is a flat $140 each calendar month.

Students are guided through the fundamentals of their instrument and given practice routines and structure to ensure proper growth and enjoyment of playing their instrument. Each student is given an individual lesson plan that is based around their goals. Students of all experience and ability levels are accepted, from ages 6 and up.

Lessons will include all necessary techniques, song material, ear training, music theory and practice routines to meet the goals of the student. Each student’s individual musical preferences and tastes are taken into account when giving song material to ensure maximum enjoyment and engagement in the process.

Beginner, intermediate, and advanced students alike are all given complete and thorough attention to their specific needs and goals musically. Beyond the musicianship skills that I teach, I aim to help students gain confidence in their abilities, and appreciate the great rewards that the discipline of learning an instrument can offer. I teach all musical styles, including but not limited to, Classical, Heavy Metal, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Folk, Pop, Indie, Reggae, Cumbia, Ranchera, Ska and more.

My favorite part of being a music teacher is watching my students become a part of our area’s music community and seeing their confidence grow and shine through them. Whether it is seeing students get full scholarships to great college music programs, watching students find success in local bands, or developing a successful Youtube/Social Media channel showcasing their music, I love seeing my community grow stronger and knowing that I had a part in helping that happen.
